Two Chinese porcelain vases, rising from a short foot to a waisted neck and slightly flared rim, brightly painted around the exterior with stylised scrolling lotus suspending beribboned qing and knots, shou characters and flying bats above the Three Abundances: pomegranate, peach and finger citron, all against a white ground, between a ruyi pendant border at the shoulder and a band of upright lappets at the base. The neck, stylized with archaistic scroll handles, is similarly decorated under a band of ruyi heads to the rim and above a key fret chain to the shoulder. The bottom with a Chinese Jiaqing seal mark, the interior and the base turquoise glazed. Height: 28.5 cm.PROVENANCE Private collection,Belgium
