AN ARCHAISTIC FIRE-GILT COPPER REPOUSSÉ FIGURE OF A RAMChina, style of the Tang dynasty - dating to the late Qing dynasty (1644-1912) or slightly later. The recumbent ram with its legs tucked underneath the body, the bearded head looking straight ahead, with long horns curled around the ears. The figure surmounted on a rectangular base and the body decorated with finely incised archaistic patterns.Condition: Very good condition with minimal surface wear, rubbing to the gilt, and areas of malachite, and cuprite encrustations. Provenance: Estate of Wolfgang Zacke (1942-2022), co-founder of Galerie Zacke, thence by descent.
