AN ARCHAISTIC FIRE-GILT COPPER REPOUSSÉ EWERChina, style of the Tang dynasty - dating to the late Qing dynasty (1644-1912) or slightly later. The parcel-gilt Tibetan style ewer decorated with archaistic patterns, raised on a flaring flower lappet foot, the globular body adorned with ornamental spheres, each with a single hoop attached, some holding ring ornaments. The curving handle and the long-curved spout depicting zoomorphic elements, and the three-leveled ornamented neck surmounted by the lid and finial.Condition: Good condition with minor traces of wear and age, rubbing to the gilt, some hoops broken, and with areas of malachite, azurite, and cuprite encrustations. Provenance: Estate of Wolfgang Zacke (1942-2022), co-founder of Galerie Zacke, thence by descent. Acquired in the Hong Kong antiques market in the early 1990s.Weight: 473 g Dimensions: Height 25.8 cm
