Age: Ming Dynasty or Earlier

Description: Carved as a seated dragon-type beast resting on his hind legs, of stiff squared form with head facing forward. The whole elegantly presented with fine wheel cut features throughout, pale yellowish white stone.

Size:2 5/8", 6.70cm.

Provenance: A French Collector, Acquired in Paris.

Condition Report: A white jade dragon carving. The stone is of a greyish white tone, there is a brownish residue on certain areas. The stone is quite consistent in colour, with some fissures mostly towards the bottom of the piece, emanating upwards from the legs and into the tail, the fissures with significant oxidation inside, highlighted with russet colour, the entire piece appears to be wheel cut, rough tool marks are visible on the interior between the legs. There does not appear to be any damage or restorations and the item stands very nicely on its own. PLEASE REQUEST ADDITIONAL PHOTOS OR A CONDITION REPORT AS NEEDED.
