Description: A speckled yellow ochre Chinese Yixing stoneware teapot and lid. Classic form, rounded squat persimmon form. Decorated with incised bamboo branch and leaves on one side and a calligraphic inscription on verso. Impressed 4 character seal type mark on concave base. Seal type mark on the interior of the lid.

Size: 7", 17.8 cm.

Provenance: From the Jennings Collection, Asheville, North Carolina. Acquired over a ten-year span.

Condition Report: Some staining and discoloration to the exterior from tea use. Handle appears to be in good condition undamaged. Spout also appears to be undamaged and in good condition. Cover with 2 chips to the outer rim and 3 more chipped on the interior rim with 2 being significant as seen in photos. PLEASE REQUEST ADDITIONAL PHOTOS OR A CONDITION REPORT AS NEEDED.
