DescriptionAntique, 18th/19th century, Chinese gilt bronze altar figure piece with central large standing Buddha with flowing robes, elaborate hairstyle, and detailed mandorla depicting lotus flower, flanked by opposing twin attendants similarly decorated, large and elaborate mandorla decorated with rising figures of seated Buddha emanating from leafy vines and bordered flames crowned with confronting qilong with sinuous bodies, each figure on lotus base, all atop of rectangular from openwork base with ridged edges- interior of base with back lacquer, mandorla verso with six-character inscription; overall good condition, age wear, surface wear, surface soiling; L 7 1/2" x H 17 1/2" (Approx.)
