DescriptionLarge antique Chinese finely carved river boulder, the nephrite jade of mutton fat coloration, some becoming white depicting a group of scholars, three examining an unrolled scroll, one seated in deep contemplation of the poetry to be used, another holding gnarled staff standing in front of an old pine tree spreading it's canopy, all amidst a rocky grotto in a mountain, the verse showing the height of the mountain in vaporous clouds, the overhanging rockery supporting two osmanthus trees, all completely carved in very deep relief with fine detail to all sides in multiple layers, accompanied with later museum quality display stand, Qing dynasty; With Stand L 8" x H 7" (Approx.)
