A CAFE-AU-LAIT GLAZED BLUE AND WHITE PORCELAIN ´LOTUS´ BOWLVietnam, 18th – 19th century. With deep rounded sides rising from a short ring foot to an everted broad rim, the interior decorated in underglaze blue with lotus scroll, the rim and exterior covered in a café au lait glaze.Condition: The bowl was broken into two pieces and reassembled, with associated touch-ups, overall presenting very well with minor surface wear and firing flaws. Provenance: The collection of The Zelnik István Southeast Asian Gold Museum. Institutional art collection in Belgium, acquired from the above. Dr. István Zelnik, President of the Hungarian South and Southeast Asian Research Institute, is a former high-ranking Hungarian diplomat who spent several decades in Southeast Asia, building the largest known private collection of Asian art in Europe.
