A LOT WITH SIX THREE-POINTED LINGLING-O STONE PENDANTSPhilippines, circa 3.000 years old. Of penannular form and different sizes, carved from various stones, each with three pointed projections. Condition: Very good condition with expected age-related wear and minor encrustations. Provenance: The collection of The Zelnik István Southeast Asian Gold Museum. Institutional art collection in Belgium, acquired from the above. Dr. István Zelnik, President of the Hungarian South and Southeast Asian Research Institute, is a former high-ranking Hungarian diplomat who spent several decades in Southeast Asia, building the largest known private collection of Asian art in Europe. Weight: 111.5 g Dimensions: Height 3.1 cm – 4 cmLingling-o or ling-ling-o, is a type of penannular or double-headed pendant or amulet that has been associated with various late Neolithic to late Iron Age Austronesian cultures. Most lingling-o were made in workshops in the Philippines, and to a lesser extent in the Sa Huỳnh culture of Vietnam, although the stone was mostly sourced from Taiwan.
