A BACTRIAN AGATE INTAGLIO SEAL DEPICTING A COWAncient region of Bactria, presumably c. 2500 years old. The circular seal carved to the base with a cow below an inscription, all within a dotted border. The translucent stone of a warm gray color with black inclusions and carved with a handle to the top. Condition: Good condition with minor wear, small nicks along the edges and natural imperfections to the stone. Provenance: The collection of The Zelnik István Southeast Asian Gold Museum. Institutional art collection in Belgium, acquired from the above. Dr. István Zelnik, President of the Hungarian South and Southeast Asian Research Institute, is a former high-ranking Hungarian diplomat who spent several decades in Southeast Asia, building the largest known private collection of Asian art in Europe.
