A SMALL LAPIS LAZULI FIGURE OF A TIGERPresumably ancient region of Bactria, c. 2500 years old. Carved as a seated tiger, the head lifted facing forward, the mane detailed. The stone of a dark blue hue amid gray veining beneath glimmering mica flecks.Condition: With wear commensurate with age, both front paws chipped. Provenance: The collection of The Zelnik István Southeast Asian Gold Museum. Institutional art collection in Belgium, acquired from the above.
