A LOT WITH FOUR GRECO-BACTRIAN HARDSTONE RINGSPresumably Greco-Bactrian Kingdom, c. 3rd – 2nd century BC and later. All having simple yet attractive designs. The first three rings are carved from stones of ochre and with tones finely polished, two having protruding bezels, one engraved with an intaglio portrait. The fourth carved from lapis lazuli, the top depicting two beast heads facing opposite directions. Condition: Very good condition with expected traces of use and wear. Provenance: The collection of The Zelnik István Southeast Asian Gold Museum. Institutional art collection in Belgium, acquired from the above. Dr. István Zelnik, President of the Hungarian South and Southeast Asian Research Institute, is a former high-ranking Hungarian diplomat who spent several decades in Southeast Asia, building the largest known private collection of Asian art in Europe.
