A NAGALAND MULTI-COLORED GLASS NECKLACE, c. 1900sNagaland, India/Burma, late 19th to early 20th century. The necklace consisting of numerous glass beads that come in different sizes, shapes, and colors, ranging from rich, warm red hues to deep blues, some being translucent and others opaque. The necklace is formed by three strands that come together before separating again at 5 points in the necklace, which is strung together by a fabric string.Condition: Good condition with expected traces of use and wear. Some beads with pitting and few chips. Provenance: Romy Rey Collection, London. Romy Rey (1938-2020) was born in Zurich, Switzerland, studied in Paris and Geneva, and settled in London in the 1960s. She shared her life with the artist Brian Davies (1942-2014), in London and in Southern France. Romy was an avid traveler and dedicated collector of tribal art.
