A NAGALAND DZI AND CORAL GLASS NECKLACE, c. 1900sNagaland, India/Burma, late 19th to early 20th century. The necklace consisting of 36 cylindrical beads of striking red colored glass in imitation of coral, and three white glass beads with Dzi patterns, flanked by smaller turquoise glass beads.Condition: Good condition with expected traces of use and wear. Some beads with pitting and few chips. Provenance: Romy Rey Collection, London. Romy Rey (1938-2020) was born in Zurich, Switzerland, studied in Paris and Geneva, and settled in London in the 1960s. She shared her life with the artist Brian Davies (1942-2014), in London and in Southern France. Romy was an avid traveler and dedicated collector of tribal art.
