Two large Chinese Canton famille rose punch bowls, Qing dynasty, 19th century, each elaborately painted with stylized panels containing figurative scenes separated by leafy floral ground, the larger - 39.5cm diameter  Condition Report: The smallest bowl has been broken in various parts: the pieces have been reattached with restorative glue and repair staples. The cracks are visible and dirt filled. The restorative glue is visible in various points both in the interior of the bowl and on the underside: it has not been painted over and as a result the decoration is not intact on those parts. Two chips to the rim. A 9cm long hairline crack from the rim. A firing fault to the well. Wear to the underside. Loss of gilding to the rim. The other bigger bowl has been broken and professionally repaired and painted over. The line of the breakage is visible to the underside. The decoration is largely intact, with some loss of gilding and colour along the rim. Some signs of pitting to the underside. Wear to the footrim.
