A George III stained oak longcase clock, third quarter 18th century, with moulded cornice above foliate fretwork frieze and twin brass capped columns, the trunk with twin fluted pilasters on a plinth base with ball feet, the silvered square dial with Roman numerals and Arabic five minute markers, the dial centre signed Saml Ashton Brabury and having hand-painted moonphase, date aperture, and scrolling foliate engraving, with scrolling foliate spandrels, the twin train eight day movement striking a bell on the hour, with two weights and pendulum, 207.5cm high Please note that Roseberys do not guarantee the working order or time keeping of any timepiece.            Footnotes: Note: Brian Loomes records Samuel Ashton working in Bredbury (Cheshire) c.1776- late18th century.
