A CARVED AQUAMARINE AND JADE PENDANT, LATE QING DYNASTY
China, 19th century. Rectangular in form, the pendant is finely carved and incised with a magpie beneath a thick, leafy bamboo stalk and a radiating sun disk on the reverse. The pendant is suspended by an old cord with a single carnelian bead beneath a celadon jade ring. The transparent, sky-blue stone has light icy inclusions.


Provenance:
From a private collection in Pennsylvania, U.S.A.

Condition:
Good condition with some wear, small nicks, light surface scratches. The stone with natural inclusions and fissures, some of which may have developed into small hairlines. Note that the present set consisting of pendant, bead, ring and cord is most likely the original composition, and not a later assemblage.

清末水藍寶石與玉雕佩飾

中國，十九世紀。海藍寶石吊墜呈長方形，一面精細雕刻竹子與旁邊的喜鵲，另一面刻有放射狀的太陽。吊墜由一根繩懸掛在玉環上，中間有一顆紅玉髓珠。透明的海藍寶石有著淡淡的冰質內沁。

狀況良好，有一些磨損、小刻痕、輕微表面劃痕。石料帶有天然内沁和裂隙，其中一些可能已發展成細小的裂紋。 請注意，目前這個組合很可能是原始組合。
