A BLACK AND WHITE JADE SNUFF BOTTLE, CHINA, 18TH CENTURY
Extremely well hollowed to partial transparency, the ovoid body rising from a thick oval base and surmounted by a short cylindrical neck. The translucent stone finely polished, highlighting the distinct gray shading with dense black specks.


Provenance:
From a noted private collection in Pennsylvania, USA, assembled since 1996.

Condition:
Very good condition with minor wear, a tiny chip to the rim which has smoothened over time, the foot with a natural fissure which has developed into a tiny hairline crack over time.

Stopper: Carved glass in imitation of coral

As with 'dream stones'
, the jade selected for the present bottle invites the viewer to contemplate upon the abstract patterns natural to the stone. One can imagine a mountainous landscape, just moments after the rain has passed and everything in the landscape is imbued with a soft, dreamlike mist. The beauty of this type of jade lies in the infinite interpretations one can make of the patterns.

掏膛極好，局部部透明，直頸，削肩，橢圓形圈足。半透明玉料，精細拋光，突出了灰色陰影和密集的黑色斑紋。
