A RED-GROUND THANGKA OF BHAISAJYAGURU, THE MEDICINE BUDDHA, TIBET, 17TH – 18TH CENTURY
Distemper and gold on cloth. Seated in dhyanasana on a lotus throne with his right hand lowered in bhusmisparsha mudra and his left holding an alms bowl, wearing an elaborately decorated patchwork robe, backed by a radiating mandorla and circular halo. The Buddha is protected by elephants, snow lions, makaras, and bodhisattvas riding rams, below Garuda subduing a naga, above various Buddhist symbols,
all surrounded by 82 Buddhas seated in dhyanasana on lotus thrones
, their hands held in varying mudras, backed by mandorlas and halos.

Good condition with minor wear, soiling, creasing, and few small losses.

西藏十七至十八世紀紅地藥師佛唐卡

布面膠彩。藥師佛結跏趺坐坐於蓮座上，右手施觸地印，左手托缽放於膝上，身著袈裟，後有光背。佛陀由大象、雪獅、摩羯、騎羊菩薩守護，下為金翅鳥降龍，上為祝佛像，周圍有八十二尊佛，結跏趺坐於蓮花座上，手結不同印記，有光背。
