Roman 1st-3rd cent. A.D. Banded agate.
W. 19/32 in; 1.5 cm
Horizontal oval intaglio made from partly translucent, partly opaque banded agate that is finely marbled in grey, beige and brown. The engraving depicts a bull walking to the left. Intaglios were frequently used to adorn items of jewelry, especially finger rings.
Right rim sightly worn.
