GROßES RÄUCHERGEFÄß. China. 19. Jh. Dunkelgrüner Jadeit, teils transluzent mit dunkelbraunen Einschlüssen und hellen Kalzifizierungen der Oberfläche. Halbkugelförmige, recht dünnwandig gearbeitete Schale mit seitlichen Griffen in Form von Löwenköpfen mit Ranken und einem losen Ring. Der hohe und schwere Fuß separat gefertigt mit einem durchbrochen gearbeiteten Mittelteil mit vier Ringösen mit losen Ringen. Der ebenfalls dünnwandig gearbeitete Deckel hoch gewölbt, mit einem separat gearbeiteten Knauf in Form eines Drachen mit vier Ösen mit losen Ringen. Die Wandung des Deckels durchbrochen mit Rankenwerk und vier Medaillons mit vierfüßigen Tieren: Pferd, Gazelle, Quilin und ein weiteres mythologisches Tier.Charakteristisch für diese Art von großen Weihrauchbrenner aus Jadeit des 19. Jhs. sind die aus der chinesischen Ikonographie zitierten Motive. Die Kalzifizierungen verleihen dem Stück eine antike Atmosphäre. Höhe 42,5cm. Zustand A/B. Provenienz:-Privatsammlung Norddeutschland. Laut Vorbesitzer wurde das Stück Mitte des 20. Jhs. in einer Auktion bei Sothebys in London erworben. Semi-spherical, rather thin-walled bowl with handles in the shape of lion heads with tendrils and a loose ring. The high and heavy foot separately worked with an open work central part with four eyelets with loose rings. The lid although a thin-walled bowl in open work with tendrils and four medallions with four-footed animals: horse, gazelle, Quilin and another mythological animal. The separately worked knob in the shape of a dragon with four eyelets with loose rings. Characteristic for this type of large incense burners from jadeite of the 19th c. are the motifs cited from historic Chinese iconography. The calcifications confers the censer an antique atmosphere.
