A gold ring with stirrup-shaped shank, bead of gold to the base, surface decorated with chevron pattern; lotus flower to each shoulder with blue enamel; oval swivel bezel threaded through gold wire, sides with petal-shaped cells filled with red, blue and green enamel; set with a limestone scarab with detailed carapace, the underside engraved with Horus as a hawk wearing the Pschent crown of Upper and Lower Egypt, uraeus cobra behind wearing the Hedjet crown of Lower Egypt; table to the front with ostrich feather of Maat to the top. 8.15 grams, 38.46mm overall, 24.55 x 15.15mm internal diameter (approximate size British I, USA 4 1/2, Europe 7.44, Japan 7) (1 1/2"). Property of a South West London gentleman; acquired by his father in the 1970s; by descent 1986. Very fine condition. A large wearable size.
