A gold ring comprising a lentoid-section hoop and raised rectangular plaque, inscribed to the hoop in seriffed capitals 'CONSTANTINO' and to the plaque 'FIDEM' (faithful to Constantine?"). 9.34 grams, 22.08mm overall, 19.39mm internal diameter (approximate size British S, USA 9, Europe 20.00, Japan 19) (3/4"). From the collection of a European gentleman living in South London; acquired 1970-1980. The ring is similar to an example in the British Museum (accession number 1917,0501.649) which formed part of the Franks bequest.
