A sheet bronze belt or girdle with bilinear borders, band of impressed spiral motifs in regular lines and columns; to one end, two decorative panels, one a guilloche with opposed figure finials and palmettes to the voids, the other a frieze of advancing lions in profile; the border pierced for attachment to a leather or fabric backing; mounted on a custom-made frame. 1.2 kg, 37cm (14 1/2"). Property of a Mayfair lady; formerly in an important London collection formed since 1965. Fine condition, repaired.
