7th-8th century AD. A hand-forged iron knife blade with thickened back, hollow-ground faces above the single edge, curved point and tapering tang. Cf. Parfitt, K. & Anderson, T. From the family collection of a South East London collector; formerly acquired in the late 1950s. Very fine condition, professionally cleaned and conserved.
