A steel chamfron used in procession of religious ceremonies, comprising an armoured frontal plate with scooped notches for the eyes, angled cups for the muzzle and ears, articulated lateral panels with mail inserts, hinged flap to the neck; rosette to the brow and plume-holder above; bands of etched reserved ornament and calligraphic text for prosperity, good health and long life, possibly Indian workmanship.
