A rectangular wooden icon with moulded frame, upper and lower rectangular panels and lateral twisted columns supporting an arch; running scrolls and rosette above the arch, cursive legend in the lower panel, painted figure of Madonna and Child to the centre with nimbate worshippers outlined with punched pellets. See Weizmann, K. et al. The Icon, New York, 1982. 1.8 kg, 42 x 29cm (16 1/2 x 11 1/2"). From a London collection; acquired from Zurich, Switzerland, in the 1980s. Fine condition.
