3rd-4th century AD. A glass iridescent bottle with gently dimpled base, spherical body and inverted tubular neck, widening to the mouth; to the body three lines of dimpled points, Cf. Lightfoot, C.S. Ancient Glass in National Museums Scotland, Edinburgh, 2007, item 333 for type 49 grams, 14cm (5 1/2"). From a Cambridgeshire collection; formerly from an important Mayfair gallery, 1970s. Fine condition; superb iridescence.
