1st-2nd century AD. A bronze aryballos flask with circular base, tall tapering body with high shoulders and short, narrow neck and circular double-lipped rim; moulded concentric circles to the base. Cf. The Metropolitan Museum, accession number 00.13.2 for type. 203 grams, 12cm (4 3/4"). Property of a central London gentleman; previously with a London, Mayfair, gallery in the early 1990s. Fine condition, sides dented.
