An amuletic silver-gilt figure of Priapus in the form of a Herm with erect phallus, tenons for arms and head of elderly male with luxuriant beard and hair bound in a wreath, standing on a rounded base; suspension loop to the back of the head. 8.71 grams, 36mm (1 1/4"). From the collection of a European gentleman living in South London; acquired 1970-1980. Very fine condition.
