A bronze ewer with piriform body, socle base, flared neck with pelleted rim, strap handle with ivy-leaf finial and crescent junction, leaf above with knop finial, band of moulded floral ornament to the shoulder. 735 grams total, 6.5-20cm (2 1/2 - 8"). Property of a Essex gentleman; formerly in a private collection since the 1980s. [4] Fragmentary condition.
