1st century AD. A discoid bronze seal box with three holes to the base and trefoil finial, hinged lid with female mask modelled in the half-round. Cf. Rolland, H. Bronzes Antiques de Haute Provence, Paris, 1965, item 341 for type. 19.65 grams, 41mm (1 1/2"). From the collection of a European gentleman living in South London; acquired 1970-1980. Very fine condition.
