A terracotta plaque of a woman and child moulded in high relief; mother standing nude and holding child in her left hand and offering her breast to the child with her right, head looks forward; mounted on a custom-made stand. 145 grams total, 15.5cm including stand (6 1/4"). Property of a Guernsey collector; acquired in the UK in the early 1990s. Fine condition.
