9th-7th century BC. A figurine of a crouching lion with legs folded beneath the body; features and decoration engraved to the body; pierced twice to the top. 35 grams, 37mm (1 1/2"). Property of a North London lady; gifted from her father's collection; formerly with a Mayfair gallery, London, UK; previously acquired in the 1980s. Fine condition.
