Circa 1965–1966 vintage autograph book, 6 x 4.25, containing numerous signatures featuring a who’s who of popular rock artists from the 1960s British music scene, with highlights including: an ultra-rare set of Yardbirds signatures from July 20, 1966 featuring their historic and short-lived (mere months) line up with guitar extraordinaires Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck, along with Keith Relf, Jim McCarty, and Chris Dreja—an unbelievably hard set of signatures to come by. Other bands who signed this highly desirable autograph book include: The Zombies (Colin Blunstone, Rod Argent, Chris White, Paul Atkinson and Hugh Grundy), The Small Faces (Steve Marriott, Ronnie Lane, Ian McLagan and Kenney Jones), The Moody Blues (Denny Laine, Mike Pinder, Ray Thomas, Clint Warwick and Graeme Edge), The Troggs (Reg Presley, Ronnie Bond, Pete Staples and Chris Britton), The Artwoods (Art Wood, Derek Griffiths, Jon Lord of Deep Purple, Keef Hartley and Malcom Pool) as well as The Merseybeats, The Berries, Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich, Downliners Sect, The Puppets, The Pretty Things, The Mindbenders, The Brumbeats, The Uglys, The Huskies, The Fairies, The Nashville Teens, Pinkerton’s Assorted Colours, The Riot Squad amongst others. In overall fine condition.Autograph books like this 60s British rock music time capsule rarely surface and this one is especially unique as the signatures were obtained by someone who had worked at the venue where these legendary artists performed.Accompanied by a provenance letter from the original recipient: "I worked at Stourbridge Town Hall from 1964 to 1967 helping out backstage and sometimes front of house. If the caretaker was not back from his meal break, I would let the groups into the building and help them set up. Fred Bannister promotions booked the top groups of the day to appear on Wednesday nights, with smaller local groups playing on Saturday nights. I met all the groups and obtained their autographs. When The Small Faces played I got them to sign my autograph book in which I had autographs of a lot of the groups (Yardbirds, Zombies, etc.).” Comes with a modern photograph of The Yardbirds from this Jimmy Page / Jeff Beck period in 1966.Format: Autograph Book
