(3) Japanese Wood Plaques with Birds & Children, 19th century. Larger plaque has carved inner and outer border and painted, wood and mother of pearl inlay motif of birds. Smaller plaques have painted border and painted, mother of pearl and partial gilt wood and stone inlay motif of running children. Dimensions are: larger plaque measures 19 5/8 inches long X 9 3/4 inches wide, smaller plaques measure 8 1/8 inches long X 6 3/8 inches wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Surface wear; small chip in upper back left corner of one of the smaller plaques, wear to all corners of large plaque.
