1st century AD. A glass unguentarium perfume bottle with squat domed body and slightly recessed underside, long slender neck with splayed and folded rim; some iridescence to surface. Cf. Whitehouse, D. Roman Glass in the Corning Museum of Glass, vol.2, New York, 2001, item 773 for type. 130 grams, 20.8cm (8 1/4"). Property of a Bristol collector; formerly part of his father's collection formed between 1960-late 1970s.
