Chinese Qing Dynasty Period, Qianlong Tianqing glazed porcelain Gu vase. The vase potted in a Chinese porcelain traditional Gu shape. The beaker having baluster shaped body, with bulging belly, trumpet-shaped on the neck, flared opening mouth rim, raised with short cylindrical and splayed foot rim. All reserved masterfully covered in an even coat of a Tianqing underglaze. Sky Blue Glaze In Chinese it is called Tian Qing You. It was a special glaze burnt by the Ru Kiln in Henan Province in the Song Dynasty for the exclusive use of the imperial court. The sky blue creates a mottled effect around the rim which is likened unto the blushing of human skin. The foot rim reveals the cut edges during the making process, and the receded central interior base left white underglaze. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous, the shape is uniformly proportioned. The Under-base bears a reign mark, a six underglaze blue script characters reign mark, Made in The Years of Qianlong Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
