Document filed with the Sangamon Circuit Court in Springfield, Illinois, for an action in the divorce between Mary Henderson and Charles Henderson, written entirely in Herndon's hand. Signed at the conclusion by Herndon, and endorsed on the reverse by Charles Lanphier, a Democratic newspaperman who had once been sued by Abraham Lincoln.
