17th Century oak Wainscot chair, probably Scottish, the carved back with double scroll cresting over arcaded panel carved with a flowering plant and thistles between stiff leaf decoration, open arms on primitive supports, later solid seat with scroll-carved front rail, and turned front supports united by plain stretcher, 108cm high Condition: Typical minor old losses to cresting commensurate with age and use, vertical cracking to back panel as per images, minor crack across one stiff leaf above open arm, old dowel peg marks to one arm, solid seat is later, front legs have been re-tipped and stretchers appear to be of a later date, a few screw repairs and clubbed dowel peg holes noticeable to rear - **General condition consistent with age
