Description
Translation provided by Youdao
This is a thermoplastic case with tintypes of two people, probably husband and wife. Both tintypes are ninth plates and hand-colored. The embossed covers show a girl putting money into a gentleman’s hat, and the motif is repeated on front and back (Krainik 388, The Blind Beggar). The clasp does not close snugly, but the case is in very good condition and was made by Littlefield Parsons in the 1850’s. The case measures 2 1/2 x 3 in. wide. Scarce.
