LARGE MIRROR,
Rococo, Berne ca. 1750/60. By Johann Friedrich Funk I. (1706-1775).
Wood, carved with rocailles, flower garlands, scrolled leaves and decorative friezes, moulded and gilt. Parts of the mirror glass, probably later, in particular the main mirror glass.
236 x 118 cm.
Losses and cracks. Gilding, rubbed. Mirror glass, slightly corroded.

The large and magnificent mirror on offer is one of the most beautiful mirror creations by the famous Bernese workshop of Johann Friedrich Funk I and may be dated to the time around 1765.
