A George II mahogany tea table circa 1740, almost certainly Irish, the hinged top with rounded castellated corners above a frieze drawer, on cabriole legs with shell carved knees and pointed pad feet, For closely related Irish tables, see James Peill and the Knight of Glin, Irish Furniture, Yale University Press, 2007, page 235, fig. 127 (Provenance: Glin Castle, County Limerick). This example has the slender cabriole legs and comparable detailing to the feet.
