A bronzer fibula of Middle La Tène type comprising a spring and long pin, broad ribbed bow extending to a tapering foot with lateral catch, returning to attach to the bow with a a D-shaped panel marked '[.]ORI' in low relief. Cf. Heynowski, R. Bestimmungsbuch Archaeologie: Fibeln, Munich, 2012, item 3.13 for type. 5.89 grams, 59mm (2 1/4"). From the collection of a European gentleman living in South London; acquired 1970-1980. The legend [?]ORI may be assumed to be a personal name, or part of a longer name such as [Vortep]ori[x].
