A neoclassical, multi-functional table after a design by Karl Friedrich Schinkel (*1781 in Neuruppin; † 1841 in Berlin), Berlin, circa 1830 The free-standing softwood carcass veneered in choice, finely grained mahogany. Standing on four high, delicately turned legs with three classic sections, terminating in ball feet. These supporting the hollow-fullered frame. The overhanging, folding and pivoting table leaf on the top of pyramid cross-section, made in beautiful, flamed Cuban mahogany. Original, superlative brass fittings and bands. This delicate, elegant table comes with an in-depth expertise by Dr. Achim Stiegel. An extract from the expertise (tr.) "The table presented here is a remarkably high-quality piece that was made in Berlin circa 1825/30, the design of which may presumably be attributed to Karl Friedrich Schinkel. This attribution is based not just on the fact that a comparable piece from the Prinz-Albrecht-Palais in Berlin was enhanced by Schinkel in the early 1830s, which has since been lost, but also on the outstanding quality of the design and execution." Auf vier hohen, fein gedrehten Beinen in klassischer Dreiteilung mit abschließenden Kugelfüßen. Darauf der hohl gekehlte Zargenkasten. Anschließendes, überkragendes klapp- und drehbares Tischblatt, welches sich in wunderbar geflammten Kuba-Mahagoni im Pyramidenschnitt zeigt. Originale, hochwertige Messingbeschläge und -bänder. Dem eleganten und feinen Tisch liegt eine ausführliche Expertise von Dr. Achim Stiegel bei.
