An iron single-edged knife or seax with thick back, ellipsoid lower guard, short tang and disc finial; inlaid copper bands with punched annulets to the back of the blade on both faces and to the guard. 419 grams, 44.5cm (17 1/2"). From a private family collection; previously acquired from a collection formed before 1990; thence by descent.
