Three Chinese porcelain snuff bottles, 19th century, the first, of ovoid shape painted in underglaze blue with figures on horseback approaching a gate which reads 'Deshengmen', the base with a six-character Yongzheng mark, 7cm high, the second, painted in underglaze blue and copper-red with dragon, turtle, fish and other sea creatures amongst waves, 9cm high, and the third, cylindrical, painted in copper-red with twelve zodiac animals, 7.5cm high (3) Provenance: Formerly in the collection of Lieutenant-Colonel and Mrs W B R Neave-Hill (1912-2000) and thence by descent. He and his wife Daphne had inherited a fine collection of Chinese porcelain from her grandfather. They were clients of Bluetts from 1953 until the 1970s. His book 'Chinese Ceramics', with a foreward by Sir Harry Garner, was published in New York in 1976. 清十九世纪 鼻烟壶 一组三件 Condition report: Blue and white bottle - minute chips to foot rim.
