A Chinese jade pair of fish pendant in the style of the Ming period, circa 1900 Light green translucent jade. With few, slight traces of sintering. Intact. Length 6.8 cm. Pairs of fish were popular wedding gifts in China as they symbolize double fertility and thus the continuity of the family. Provenance: From a South German family collection, acquired by the father in China in the 1920s and 1930s.
