1st century BC. An amber-coloured moulded glass bowl with flared rim, ribbing to the rounded sidewall. Cf. Whitehouse, D., Roman Glass in the Corning Museum of Glass, vol.2, New York, 2001, item 761, for type.250 grams, 13cm (5 1/4"). Property of a London businessman; formerly with Maxim Schick and in the EU since 2010; previously in a private Israeli collection; accompanied by a copy of the 2010 Israeli export licence; this lot has been checked against the Interpol Database of stolen works of art and is accompanied by AIAD certificate number no. 10439-168746.
