Rev: PROVIDE AVG legend with Providentia standing left, holding globe and transverse sceptre; Q in exergue. RIC 152; Sear 11793.3.72 grams. ("). From the private collection of a retired Suffolk gentleman. Tacitus reigned for around six months before his death, possibly by assassination. During his short reign, he did however manage to implement a number of numismatic innovations. He is believed to have claimed descent from the famous historian Cornelius Tacitus. [No Reserve]
